The risks of dealing in cryptoassets

Cryptoassets carry significant risk. This disclosure describes some of those risks. It is not a complete list, and it is not advice.
You can lose money
The value of a cryptoasset can fall as easily as it can rise, and it can fall to zero. You should not commit money you cannot afford to lose entirely.
Prices can move very quickly and by large amounts, including outside normal business hours, and including while you are unable to act.
Not insured, not guaranteed
Cryptoassets are not deposits. They are not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the National Credit Union Administration, the Securities Investor Protection Corporation, or by any agency of the United States or of any state.
FinCEN MSB registration information is provided by the registrant. FinCEN does not recommend, approve or endorse any business that registers as a money services business, and registration is not a licence, an approval or an endorsement.
Transactions can be irreversible
A cryptoasset transfer recorded on a public network generally cannot be reversed, cancelled or recalled once it is confirmed. An error in an address or an amount may be permanent.
Market data has limits
The prices shown in the Affirm Wallet & Exchange application come from a third-party market-data provider and are indicative. They may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable, and they may differ from the price at which any particular venue would transact.
Charts and historical prices describe the past. Past performance is not a guide to future performance.
Regulation can change
The law governing cryptoassets in the United States and elsewhere is developing. A change in law, regulation or enforcement may affect the value of a cryptoasset, the ability to transfer it, or the availability of any service.
Technology risk
Cryptoasset networks, software and service providers can fail, be attacked, or suffer outages, bugs and forks. Loss of a private key or recovery phrase generally means permanent loss of the asset it controls.
Affirm Wallet & Exchange never asks for a private key or recovery phrase, and never will.
Liquidity
Some cryptoassets trade in thin markets. It may not be possible to buy or sell a given quantity at the price shown, or at all.
Tax
Dealing in cryptoassets may have tax consequences, which depend on your circumstances and where you live. Affirm Wallet & Exchange does not provide tax advice. Keep your own records and consider taking professional advice.
No advice
Affirm Wallet & Exchange does not provide investment advice and does not recommend any asset, strategy or transaction. Market information is provided for general information only and is not financial, tax, or investment advice.
